Welcome!

Hi,

I'm Samantha.

Trauma-informed. Holistic Psychotherapist in Indiana, Illinois, and Michigan

Therapist, wife, mom, lifelong learner, and a big believer that there's always more to discover about ourselves.

I'm Samantha Whiting, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and the owner of Elements Therapy & Wellness.

I'm naturally curious. I love learning, asking questions, making connections, and figuring out why we humans do the things we do. Whether it's something I've read, a conversation I've had, or a random topic that sends me down a research rabbit hole, I genuinely enjoy discovering something new.

I'm especially fascinated by the connection between our minds and bodies. How our physical health influences our emotions, how our experiences shape us, and how the little things we do every day can make a difference in how we feel.

And I love those moments when something finally clicks and you think, "Well, that explains a lot."

A Little More About Me

Outside of work, I'm a wife, mom to two boys, and dog mom to our Australian Shepherd, Gus.

Our family spends a lot of time outdoors. Whether we're exploring a trail, heading to the beach, or finding somewhere new to wander, fresh air and a little adventure are some of my favorite things.

I'm also a homeschool mom, which fits pretty well with my love of curiosity and learning. I enjoy watching my boys discover the world, following their interests, and finding opportunities to learn through everyday experiences.

I value movement and wellness. Strength training, walking, and spending time outside are some of the ways I enjoy caring for myself.

Give me a good audiobook, especially something with a little fantasy and magic, and I'm pretty happy.

Why I Love What I Do

I've always been interested in people and their stories.

Not just what someone is experiencing, but how they got there. The relationships, experiences, beliefs, and little moments that shape the way we see ourselves and the world.

One of my favorite things about being a therapist is that I never stop learning. Every person brings a different perspective, and there's always something new to understand.

Over the years, my professional interests have continued to grow, particularly around women's mental health, the mind-body connection, and the emotional experiences that can accompany hormonal changes.

I'm drawn to a holistic approach because I don't think we can separate our emotional well-being from the rest of our lives.

And I genuinely enjoy helping people connect the dots.

What You'll Find in a Session With Me

I'm warm, conversational, curious, and pretty down-to-earth.

I appreciate humor, even in conversations about difficult things, and I believe there's room for both laughter and tears.

I'm engaged in our conversations. I'll ask questions, share observations, offer another perspective, and gently challenge you when it feels helpful.

I also recognize that I don't have all the answers.

You are the expert on your own experiences, and I bring my clinical knowledge and perspective to the conversation.

No need for perfectly rehearsed answers or having everything figured out.

That's not really how life works anyway.
